Como faço p converter um numero float para short em C?

Estou tendo problemas pq ao usar a funcao lineto ,da biblioteca graphics.h, ela só admite valores do tipo short. Mas com as eq. q usei seriam numeros de mais de 2 casas após a virgula.. Há algum método para converter esses numeros, ou melhor, poder usar float numa funcao assim??
